Polaris Industries Director of Engineering in Elkhart, Indiana

The Director of Engineering will lead the engineering team in the engineering design and development of new products and will oversee current products as well to ensure products are produced with the highest level of quality. In addition to Engineering expertise, the Director of Engineering requires excellent communication, project management, change management, and process improvement to support our goals to accelerate innovation and develop an Engineering Center of Excellence and a World Class Engineering Team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :

·Provide day-to-day leadership to support several engineers in a variety of functional areas

·Oversee the engineering design, development, and validation of new products

·Oversee the engineering change management of current products

·Assist product management to maintain a new idea pipeline

·Coordinate with the program manager to outline tasks required for a successful launch

·Oversee and provide support to the Bill of Materials team

·Provide technical support for warranty and recall management

·Communicate timeline and changes with critical suppliers to ensure readiness, while meeting all costs and quality standards

·Support product after NPDE is complete, and support mechanical engineering to ensure operations is ready for the product

Requirements

• Confirmed executive technical leadership capability, with the ability to effectively take a hands on and involved approach when required. This will require establishing day-to-day project direction in order to enhance / improve the current strategies and produce world class product offerings.

• Must have an excellent track record of setting and implementing product roadmaps.

• Must play a lead role in assessing talent and skill gaps to align strategic initiatives.

Other Skills/Abilities

• BS Engineering or Manufacturing preferred (preferably engineering related)

• Experience with Rhino, Solidworks, AutoCAD or similar CAD software experience.

• Prior experience with Syteline ERP software system or equivalent experience.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
