Polaris Industries Lead, Strategic Sourcing NPI Sr. in Wyoming, Minnesota

The NPI Advanced Sourcing Lead will be responsible for transforming the future of Polaris’ supply chain and instrumental in shaping processes in advanced sourcing. This NPI Lead will be responsible for managing the commercial and related tasks required for advanced product technology development and subsequent integration into new product development programs. You will be the sourcing interface with engineering project and development teams, product management, category sourcing management, and supplier quality & development teams.

Key Responsibilities

Leading the charge with supplier quality & development to identify, best fit, and select supply chain partners to support advanced engineering technology products.

Pro-actively working with engineering and product management to develop and execute supplier facing intellectual property strategy that translates into competitive market advantage.

Translate customer requirements and challenges into solutions as brought forth from supply chain partners.

Utilizing Request for Information and Request for Proposal process to solicit supplier information to support technical and commercial requirements development for competitive bidding of technology supply.

Working autonomously and pro-actively broadly across the sourcing and engineering organization, utilizing a bandwidth of technical and sourcing acumen to realize standard process and develop standard tools to support new technology development and advanced sourcing activities.

Willingness to travel domestically and globally to collaborate and support potential supplier qualification and/or pre-production and concept vehicle builds.

Utilizing and developing strong communication skills both verbal and written to communicate at all levels within the organization.


  • Minimum of 5 years of work experience. 3+ years in Technology Development and product development or procurement environments with demonstrated success highly preferred.

  • 3+ Years’ experience in Project Management. PMP preferred

  • Extensive knowledge of Sourcing Events with demonstrated effective Request for Information and Request for Proposals (RFI/RFP)

  • A technical background in both electrical and mechanical systems is preferred. Familiarity of both systems is required.

  • Knowledge of Software Development & Licensing


  • BS/BA degree in Business, Supply Chain/Operations or Engineering is required.

  • Demonstrated Effective negotiation, communication, decision making, and problem-solving skills.

  • Have an understanding and/or experience in gate review processes related to New Product Development.

  • Knowledge of engineering documentation, manufacturing process control, and technical data.

  • Knowledge of supply contracts with domestic and international suppliers.

  • Knowledge of commodity markets with capability to analyze data and develop strategy.

  • Excellent MS Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, & Outlook) supported by matching verbal and written communication skills.
